Elimination Tool:
The anterior pituitary gland produces and secretes gonadotropins, which act on the gonads to promote the production of other hormones. These hormones include human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), luteinizing hormone (LH), and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH).
A gonadotropin is not oxytocin. The posterior lobe of the pituitary gland stores and secretes it, while the hypothalamus produces it. It causes the mammary glands’ milk ducts to dilate in order to facilitate milk ejection and increases uterine contractions during labor.
